We’re going to be honest with you here: It’s not the best idea to follow someone else’s ranking of the best baby wipes. Your baby’s bottom has needs that might not be in line with another’s. As the book says, Everyone Poops, but not necessarily the same way. At the same time, if you’re just starting out in your baby wipe journey, you might need a bit of guidance. Look at this as a place to start. Then make a few purchases and judge for yourself.
Do you value an eco-friendly baby product over a super-clean feel? Is your baby’s skin too sensitive for fragrances? Do you need thickness and texture to get the perfect wiping action. These are the kinds of slightly gross things you have to decide along the way.
But before we go any further in this deep, meaningful conversation about ways to clean butts, please read this PSA: DO NOT FLUSH BABY WIPES. Even if they say “flushable,” even if they’re plant-based and biodegradable. Yes, even if they’re full of poop. If you’re not in the mood to have a plumbing disaster, and if you are a responsible citizen who enjoys a functioning city sewer system, please toss these in the garbage.
Of course, all of these baby products are great for your own use too. Just don’t forget to save some for the little ones!

15. Amazon Elements Baby Wipes
If price and availability are your primary criteria, this is the wipe to buy (at about $.02 per wipe). While they have no alcohol, dyes, parabens, or phthalates, they are available in a “fresh” scent.
14. Kirkland Signature Baby Wipes
If you’re a Costco member, these wipes are a fantastic deal. They’re large, made from renewable wood fiber, gentle, and have skin-soothing chamomile and aloe. Sign up for a Costco membership here.
13. Seventh Generation Free and Clear Baby Wipes
These wipes are made from plant-derived ingredients (that includes the wet cleaning agents) that are safe for sensitive skin. The only complaint most parents have is that they tend to come out a few at a time, which can be frustrating.
12. Burt’s Bees Baby Chlorine-Free Wipes
We trusted Burt’s lip balm as teenagers, so we can stick with the brand now that we’re parents. These are gentle and free from harmful chemicals, while also providing moisturizing vitamin E.
11. Bloom Baby Wipes
Not only are these wipes made from plant-based products and produced by 100 percent wind energy, they’re also thick, which you want when that little item is all that stands between you and an extra-messy butt. Plus, the base is fragrance-free and moisturizing.
10. BumBoosa
It’s more sustainable to make wipes from fast-growing bamboo instead of slow, valuable trees, so bonus points to this brand. If your baby is sensitive to natural oils like calendula and chamomile, however, skip these and find something fragrance-free.
9. Caboo Bamboo Wipes
Did we mention that we love wipes made of bamboo? They’re also free of alcohol, chlorine, paraben, formaldehyde, phthalates. They do have an aloe scent, however, so they’re not for everyone.
8. Doctor Butler’s Organic Soothing Baby Wipes
Is there really a Dr. Butler or is that just a very appropriate name invented for this brand of wipes? We don’t know. What we do know is that people love these large, organic-bamboo wipes, which soothe with vitamin E, calendula, rosemary oil, chamomile, and avena sativa (oat).
7. Pampers Aqua Pure
If you like your wipes to be wetter, and your baby has sensitive skin, this might be the line for you. The wet part is made from 99 percent water and 1 percent, well, other stuff to make them effective and help maintain skin’s pH balance (but there’s no alcohol, fragrance or other irritants). The wipes themselves are partially made with cotton, which Pampers says helps make them softer.
6. Huggies Natural Care
These relatively inexpensive are 99% water-based and fragrance-free — that’s the “natural” part of the name. They’re also very effective and a reliable favorite for parents.
5. WaterWipes Unscented Baby Wipes
The true selling point of these wipes is just as the name suggests — their base is 99.9 percent water and .1 percent fruit extract to clean little bottoms. This is great if you hate harsh chemicals and don’t need them to moisturize or disinfect.
4. Parasol Clear + Pure Wipes
This brand is giving Honest a run for the money in the cute print department. The wipes are also a fast favorite due to their thickness and texture (for extra wiping action), and they have check marks in a lot of categories — plant-based, unscented, and free from chlorine, alcohol, parabens, fragrance, dyes, phthalates, and optical brighteners.
3. Hello Bello Wipes
Plant-based, biodegradable and strong, these wipes are definitely made for cleaning. They have a touch of chamomile and aloe extract, though they’re labeled “fragrance-free.”
2. Pampers Sensitive Baby Wipes
Once you’ve used these extra-thick baby wipes — so good at doing what you need them to do with one wipe instead of two or three — it’s very hard to switch to anything else (even if other brands are more eco-friendly). These are hypoallergenic and free from alcohol, perfume, parabens, phenoxyethanol, and dyes.
1. Honest Wipes
Parents don’t just buy these wipes because they come in such attractive packaging. They’re also very effective, made from sustainably harvested plant-based ingredients, and free of alcohol, parabens, fragrance, and anything else we don’t want near our babies.
