• In a new YouTube video, Sandra Lee, MD—aka Dr. Pimple Popper—goes all Macgyver on a patient’s cyst.
• Dr. Lee hole-punches her way into the cyst and squeezes out a fair amount of gunk.
• The so-called Macgyvering happens when Dr. Lee goes to stitch up the hole.
How do you make one of Dr. Pimple Popper’s cyst pops even more suspenseful? Channel Macgyver. For those of you (like Dr. Pimple Popper’s assistant, apparently) too young to recall the ’80s action show starring Richard Dean Anderson, its titular hero was known for improvising on the fly by using everyday objects to get himself out of a jam.
That’s precisely the energy Dr. Pimple Popper—aka dermatologist and TLC host Sandra Lee, MD—brings to her latest procedure in a new YouTube video.
In the video, Dr. Lee is performing what appears to be a typical cyst extraction. She uses her coring tool to hole-punch her way into the cyst, then squeezes out its gunky, chunky contents. Delicious. After that super-juicy extraction, the Macgyvering occurs while Dr. Lee goes about the business of stitching her patient back up. (It’s a little eerie to see the perfectly circular hole left by the coring tool!)
“MacGyver would have extracted his own cyst with a Swiss Army Knife,” one commenter pointed out. (Thank you, Dr. Lee, for, uh, not doing this.)
“You know things are gonna be good when it starts with a punch,” another fan wrote.
Check out the clever stitching work (not to mention the juicy, juicy extraction) right here:
