Recall: Sliced sausages with health germs of a harmful or contaminated
The Austrian manufacturer “Steirische Manufaktur für Feinschmecker Josef Reiner GmbH & Co KG“ has launched a recall for a variety of meats. According to the company, it cannot be excluded that the affected products are contaminated with Listeria. Was sold to the sausage-cold cuts at the supermarket.
At Lidl in Austria, a variety of sausages are called goods. According to the manufacturer, the products could be contaminated with Listeria. These bacteria can lead to health complaints and in the case of certain groups of people very serious disease cause.
Listeria monocytogenes detected
As the Austrian Agency for health and food safety (AGES) on their website, writes, informed by the Austrian manufacturer “Steirische Manufaktur für Feinschmecker Josef Reiner GmbH & Co KG“ a product recall:
In the product, “noted Thaler AMA extra sausage slightly, cut 200g” has been demonstrated, therefore, in the case of an investigation in the framework of the regular inspections of Listeria monocytogenes.
The manufacturer therefore calls on the following products with a minimum durability date of up to and incl. 11.06.2020 back:
- Thaler AMA pointed extra sausage slightly, sliced, 200g
- Pointed Taler AMA Fine extra sausage, sliced, 200g
- Thaler AMA asparagus showed extra sausage, sliced, 200g
- Pointed Taler AMA’s snack sausage, sliced, 120g
- Thaler AMA pointed Spicy cheese sausage, sliced, 80g
- Pointed Taler AMA 3-tray cold cuts (Delicate cheese sausage, the Finest of Krakow, Spicy, extra sausage), 500g
Also the following article with a date of minimum durability to be called. 22.06.2020:
- Pointed Taler AMA ham sausage, sliced, 125g
- Thaler AMA pointed ham sausage with a pepper edge, cut, 125g
It cannot be excluded that the above products are contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes (Listeria).
According to the figures, the products in all Lidl can be returned to stores. The purchase price will be refunded, without submission of receipts.
Affected meats were not consumed
Listeria are bacteria that can be the cause of stomach/intestinal disease (listeriosis), and flu-like symptoms.
In healthy adults, the infection is in most cases inconspicuous or take a harmless course, explains the Bavarian state office for health and food safety (LGL).
But: “In the case of certain groups of people (Pregnant women, small children, the elderly and the Immunocompromised) may occur very serious disease,” reads the website of the AGES.
Due to this health risk, customers should be aware of the recall and the affected products not to consume. (ad)
