Maybe it's just me being dramatic, but the weather seems to be getting cooler and dryer by the day — and my lips have not been loving it. Not one bit. For instance, before I started using Tatcha's Kissu Lip Mask a few weeks ago, they were desert dry, cracked at the corners, and flaking at the edges, and my usual treatments just weren't doing the trick. So you can imagine my surprise when Tatcha's mask got rid of the aforementioned issues almost instantly.
I decided to pick up the squalane-based lip mask soon after a friend waxed poetic about it, and well, I now understand why she was so eager to share her love for it. The ultra-thick-yet-somehow-non-sticky mask feels rich and luxurious on parched lips — but more importantly, it moisturizes them like nothing else. In addition to olive-derived squalane, it's also made with soothing Japanese pear extract, vitamin and omega-rich camellia oil, and hydrating rose extract. There's also some calming allantoin in there, too.
As you can clearly see in the before-and-after photos, my lips look significantly healthier with the treatment on. They're shinier, smoother, much softer, and the fine lines I have are less prominent. Because it's so moisturizing, it also has a slight plumping effect that's temporary, of course, but nice nonetheless.
Another aspect I love about this formula is that it actually lasts. With other lip balms ad treatments, I often find myself reapplying several times a day, which isn't the most ideal. Not with this one though. I smear it on in the morning before my coffee — and my lips still look lush and juicy by the time lunchtime rolls around.
All this to say: If you've been on the hunt for a lip treatment that repairs, hydrates, and look incredible, I'd highly recommend giving this one a shot. You can shop it for $28 on sephora.com.
