Drake Gushes Over 14-Month-Old Son Adonis' Art

Out of all the drama surrounding Drake’s once-secret relationship with adult star-turned-artist, Sophie Brussaux, there seems to be a silver lining: Their kid is a bona fide painter whose talents rank up there with the best of the best (well, at least in Drake’s opinion). The Toronto-raised rapper, who confirmed his son’s identity in his most recent album, Scorpion, shared a photo of his 14-month-old son Adonis’ handprint art with his 52.4 million Instagram followers (and, thus, the world) with the caption, “Adonis > Picasso don’t @ me.”

Aw, it looks like Champagne Papi has graduated to Proud Papi.

Drake’s fans seem to agree with his artistic assessment, as his post has racked up nearly 1 million likes over the past 24 hours. Trying not to be bitter here, but none of my macaroni art ever received such praise.

This adorable dad moment is a much-needed reprieve from the yearslong controversial feud among Drake, Pusha T, Lil Wayne and Kanye West that turned especially venomous this spring when Pusha revealed that Drake had fathered a son in his song, “The Story of Adidon.”

The diss track sparked a series of rumors, and Brussaux even came forward claiming to have texts in which Drake asked her to get an abortion. In June, Drake dropped the track, “March 14,” in which he (proudly?) stated that he was, indeed, Adonis’ dad. He also included a couple of lines about why he (allegedly) waited to tell the world about his infant son: “I wasn’t hiding my kid from the world / I was hiding the world from my kid.”

Thankfully, all of the hiding seems to be over now. And for young Adonis’ sake, let’s hope that instead of diss tracks, Drake opts to share more proud dad moments with the world going forward.
